Born in Charlton in 1923 and named Peter but called "Skeeter" at school because I was very small for my age. The second eldest of 11 kids, we moved to Ultima when I was 5.

I have lived on a farm all of my life except during WWII when, along with my brother, I went to Europe to fight. We were both captured by the Germans and became prisoners of war.
